Dilution Ratio Calculator

When making noodle sauce, soup base, or concentrated drinks, calculate how much concentrate and water you need for the final amount.

Updated: May 15, 2026

Input

Calculate concentrate and water amounts from a dilution ratio and final volume.

Treats 4x dilution as final amount = concentrate x 4, so 1 part concentrate plus 3 parts water.

Result

100ml

Concentrate

300ml

Water

400ml

Final amount

The ratio is 1 part concentrate to 3 parts water. Adjust to the product label and taste.

Use this as a guide and adjust for your real conditions.

How to use

  1. Enter the final amount in ml.
  2. Enter the dilution ratio from the product label.
  3. Concentrate, water, and final amount appear on the right.

Useful tips

  • Useful when you want to make a 4x noodle sauce dilution; adjust inputs to compare outcomes.
  • Useful when you want to prepare only the amount of concentrate drink you need; adjust inputs to compare outcomes.
  • Prefer product labels, recipe notes, and equipment markings when available.
  • When unsure, start with a smaller or shorter estimate and adjust from the actual result.

Formula

Concentrate = final amount ÷ dilution ratio. Water = final amount - concentrate. 4x dilution is treated as final amount equals 4 times the concentrate.

Notes

  • Product labels may use different wording or recommended strengths.
  • Taste changes with use case, ice, heating, and ingredient moisture.
  • Powders, weight-based dilution, and alcohol adjustment are out of scope.

FAQ

Does 4x dilution mean 1 part concentrate plus 4 parts water?

In this tool, no. It uses the common final-volume meaning: 1 part concentrate plus 3 parts water makes 4 parts total. Follow the product label if it differs.

Can I use units other than ml?

The same-unit math is the same, but this screen labels the values as ml.
